A deodorant is composed of fragrance (that gives a particular scent ) and deodorizers (that helps to control the natural body odors). Deodorants do not stop body odor, but they can suppress and neutralize the odors that are the result of bacteria and sweat together. Deodorants are alcohol based with chemicals added.  A perfume contains fragrances and a solvent that will help dissolve this fragrances.
A deodorant is used to mask body odor produced by the bacteria that thrives on sweat.  The sweat as a body fluid does not have a strong odor but the bacteria that thrive in warm moist places love armpits and other areas of the body. Perfumes is used to give you a particular sweet smelling scent you so desire.
